Abbey Centre Pre-SchoolS. Philpott
Ofsted Inspection Number: 1152755
“The Abbey Centre Pre-school provides a happy, caring and relaxed atmosphere. The staff work well as a team and provide a wide range of activities to create a stimulating environment. By the time the children are five years old most children are likely to achieve the desirable learning outcomes in all six areas. The programme for personal and social development is very good and a strength of the pre-school. The children settle very happily to an activity of their choice. They play very well together, co-operating, taking turns in games and sharing resources well. They are able to concentrate and persevere with activities until completed and are encouraged to be independent. Staff are clear and consistent in their approach and the behaviour of the children is very good.”
Introduction to our Pre-School Our aims:
We offer:
The Group The Pre-School was opened in 1987, it is a Registered Charity, and as such is a non-profit making community based group. The Pre-School is a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, and with the support and guidance of experienced and long serving staff the group is managed by a committee of elected parents. The emphasis of the group is learning through play, and considerable importance is placed on a child’s personal and social development.
The group operates eight sessions a week, Monday to Friday morning, 9.15am to 11.45 am. and Monday to Wednesday afternoon, 12.15 pm to 12.45 pm.
The Pre-School is registered with Ofsted and follows a curriculum which leads to nationally approved learning goals. You will be eligible to use the Nursery Education Grant within our Pre-School, your child’s entitlement will depend on their date of birth.
The Pre-School is run by qualified and experienced staff, and the group is proud of its high ratio of adults to children. This ensures individual attention to the needs and development of each child.
Policies Our policies are designed to offer the best possible experiences for children and families in the group. They are available for inspection on request.
Special Needs The number of adults present in the Pre-School enables us to provide individual attention for each child. If you would like to discuss the group’s ability to meet your own child’s special needs, please speak to the Pre-School Supervisor.
Fees Fees are payable half termly in advance. Fees continue to be payable if a child is absent. Each child’s attendance at the group is conditional upon continued payment of any fees and/or Nursery grant.
Snack Whilst your child is in Pre-School they will be given a snack, this consists of a drink, fresh fruit and either a biscuit or another item which is on the menu that week. For this you will be charged a small fee which will be payable each half term with your fees.
