HUNSBURY TOWNSWOMENS GUILD

We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at The Abbey Centre at approximately 1.45 pm to 3.30 pm. At the moment we have approximately 35 members and are always pleased to welcome new members or visitors. On the Tuesday following our main meeting we have a craft afternoon which is mostly well attended. Also a tea afternoon on the 1st Tuesday of the month, where members bring along a plate of cakes or sandwiches or biscuits, have a cup of tea and share plates while they enjoy a social afternoon.

Each year we have a chosen charity where money raised through craft tables/tea afternoons/penny collections and any other way we can think of to raise funds is donated to that year’s Charity. In January 2006 we donated £500 to our 2005 Charity chosen by members, which was Warwickshire and Northampton Air Ambulance. The Charity for 2006 is Macmillan Nurses, a very worth cause.

During 2006 we have planned for our talks and enjoyment Homeopathy for Sceptics, Keeping Houseplants Happy, BBQ & Auction, Samaritans, Northants Police, Strawberry Tea, Christmas party and Christmas lunch amongst others equally interesting. We are always pleased to see visitors, who would like to attend a couple of meetings hopefully to become members.

We also sometimes get invites from other Guilds within our federation to accompany them on outings, quizzes and the annual Christmas Carol Service.
